負け戦の兵隊さんはみんなこんなもんです。
今のイラク帰還兵も、やがてこんな焦燥を感じるのでしょうか。
自分でも気に入ってる歌詞は「刑務所に影が伸びる」からの４行。
「ain’t」ってあまり見慣れない短縮形なのですが、
are
not, have not, did not, do not, is not
をくっつけた形で、かなりくだけた南部なまりなのだそうです。
また、「brother」を兄弟、つまり主人公の肉親とすべきかどうか疑問だったのですが
兵隊仲間の戦友同士といったスタンスと想定して訳してみました。
